Flag etiquette

“Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.” (George Carlin) After winning the gold medal in the men’s halfpipe, as Shaun White passed the flag to his right hand, the hand that was clutching his snowboard, the flag ended up on the ground being dragged through the snow while he walked off the hill. A few viewers found this to be unacceptable. Where did all that stupidity come from? Flag etiquette dictates that the flag CAN touch the ground and also CAN be burned.
