Just a normal day

Most of the health habits I learned and still use today come from the teachings of my grandpa and dad. I don’t remember being told to eat or use anything that didn’t come from Mother Nature. Dad told me that I should deny entry into my house and my life to anyone and anything that could hurt me.
My day starts between 4 and 5am, with 1/2 hour of selected exercises, designed to warm up, maintain muscles flexibility and a strong back. Bet you are probably thinking: what, that early? Yes, I sleep between 9-10pm and 3-4am, and by then I am ready to start my day. This is the optimum sleep time for resting the body. I prefer to eat around 6am, 12 noon and 6pm. Breakfast at 6am usually consists of 2 free range natural eggs, 1 fruit in season, homemade goat cheese, and a few almonds. At noon, my plate is simple: 70% dark green leafy plants (collard, mustard, lettuce, or spinach), 10% veggies (yam, malanga, yucca, lentils, sweet potatoes), 10% of meat(fish, chicken, lamb, duck, wild boar, venison, or anything else raised on the farm), 8% grain (sorghum, Bulgur wheat, or Quinoa), 2% in natural fats and sea salt. Supper is kept light at 6pm with a salad or oatmeal. Fruits and juices from papaya, soursop and fruit in season are prepared when desired.
I don’t fall for the Detox fad going around these days and I make my own tooth paste and laundry detergent. Have you ever read the writing on the back of a bottle of a commercial dish detergent? It says: “If swallowed, call a poison control centre or doctor immediately. Do not induce vomiting.” Have you ever read the writing on the back of a toothpaste tube? “Keep out of the reach of children under 6 years of age. If more than used for brushing is accidently swallowed, get medical help or contact a poison control center right away.”
Things you will not find in my house: bleach, chlorine, cleaning chemicals, herbicide, insecticide, pesticide, anti-bacterial soap, hand cleaning solution, mouthwash, mouth rinse, cakes, coffee, refined sugar, flour, cereal, table salt, cow’s milk, bread, rice, soybean products, margarine, hybrid and GMO foods, soda and anything else detrimental to my health.
