We are doing great

We are doing great, and I can not feel any prouder of my fellow humans. We should pat ourselves on the back.
You may have heard of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. If you haven’t, it’s exactly what it sounds like: a massive vortex of trash floating in the Pacific Ocean. Scientists studying this ocean trashcan have discovered it contains at least 79,000 tons of plastic, that’s up to 16 times higher than previous estimates. Measuring about 620,000 miles², the island of rubbish is twice the size of Texas.
On another planet, Mark Zukerberg said he was sorry, with a straight face after calling Facebook users “a bunch of Fu*ks”. The media and many companies rally around him with their pants around their ankles, asking how they may be of more help to him.

Eight million tonnes of plastics enter the oceans every year, much of which has accumulated in five giant garbage patches around the planet, according to a new study (AFP Photo/Handout)
