There are 7427 blatant absurdities in the bible. Among them:
(In the bible, as in the Quran, women and children are literally possessions of men, which is why a man can sell his daughter into slavery, or a rapist can buy his victim.)
-Genesis 26:34 And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite:
(Esau’s wife Bashemath was the daughter of Elon the Hittite)
-Genesis 36:2 Esau took his wives of the daughters of Canaan; Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite;3 And Bashemath Ishmael’s daughter, sister of Nebajoth.
(Bashemath was the daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebajoth, his wife Adah is the daughter of Elon the Hittite)
-Genesis 28:9 Then went Esau unto Ishmael, and took unto the wives which he had Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham’s son, the sister of Nebajoth, to be his wife.
(Esau’s wife Mahalath is the daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebajoth)
-Genesis 32:28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.
(God changed Jacob’s name at Peniel, crossing the Jabbok)
-Genesis 35:9 And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padanaram, and blessed him.10 And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel.
(God changed Jacob’s name at Padanaram)
-Genesis 35:10 And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel.
(God says Jacob is to be called Jacob no longer; henceforth his name is Israel.)
-Genesis 46:1 And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.2 And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.
(Later, God himself uses the name Jacob.)
