Long ago, in a fairytale land not too far away from the imagination, a virgin called Mary was seduced, violated, ravished, before indulging in a physical sexual tryst with a head fairy. So goes another version of Cinderella and the big Ogre.
While there is no biblical way to prove Mary’s virginity claim, she was nevertheless 12 to 14 years old and already a prostitute. Even Joseph thought Mary’s virgin birth story was iffy, so much so that, at one point, he was so sure Mary had sex with other men that he was ready to divorce her.
No church will even consider the legality of her sexual consent. Engaging in a sexual act without the other person’s consent is considered sexual assault or rape. Consent implies that both parties know what’s proposed and expected; that they fully understand the ramifications, physically and emotionally, of the suggested activity. Under no circumstances should either partner be pressured or coerced into engaging in any form of sexual activity. It is commonplace that coercion by the recipient of consent renders that consent invalid.
Having sex with someone under the age of consent is considered a crime called statutory rape, even if the person under the age of consent says that she or he wanted the sexual behavior to take place. To have a “contract” or agreement between two parties that engages the construct of mutual consent, both parties have to be of a minimum age of majority and have a mental level of understanding of what their actual agreement pertains and the consequences. God, by virtue of being eternal, and being trillion of years old at the time of the encounter, falls under that legal definition. God, by virtue of being omniscient, cannot claim ignorance of the law. Mary, however, was still a teenager who wasn’t omnipotent or omniscient.
God decided “under color of authority” to do more than violate Mary, who was Joseph’s legal wife. In the bible, which is his written confession, the chief fairy is claiming or implying the act he is committing is related to and legitimized by his role as a theological power, knowing full well that the act is unlawful and forbidden by his own commandment. Thus the invalidity of Mary’s consent. The decision to trick and rape the ‘virgin’ Mary is an appearance of theological power to act in violation of his own enacted biblical law.
10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbor’s.” God not only coveted Joseph’s wife, he also coveted her ass.
Thus, following in a long line of esteemed perverts, God the Father became the literal father of Jesus Christ, who is not the only fairy to be born of a mortal mother and an immortal father.
Genesis 6:1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
The “sexual intercourse” between God and Mary was a lousy “sequel” when one considers the exploits found in the mythological fairytale department. Let’s all remember that Zeus, the “father of the gods”, was the original deity whose sexual appetite and rapine seductions were all too well known. He nailed Danae, Leda, Callisto, Mnemosyne, and even Ganymede. In his infamous escapades, he seduced Europa by turning himself into a white bull, running off with her on his back, and ravishing her on the isle of Crete. He had an affair with Io and then turned her into a heifer. He seduced Semele and eventually killed her by showing her his full, godly glory.
And what can be said about: Iphimedeia, Medusa, Hephaestus, Uranus, Theophane, Ixion, Centaurus, Alcmene, Demeter, Persephone, Pasiphae, to name a few?
When the line is purposely blurred between fiction and reality, it becomes possible to believe in Zeus, dragons, talking snake, unicorns, cockatrices, talking asses, virgin birth and zombies. Incest, rape, bestiality, genocide, slavery are just hallucinating collaterals to the delusion. When mythology is allowed to cross over into, and merge with reality, then stupidity becomes an acceptable and believable sought-after trait. That’s why, in today’s dysfunctional world, Mary can have a little lamb and his name is Jesus.
