There are 7427 blatant absurdities in the bible. Among them:
The study of inconsistencies in the Bible has a long history. In the 17th century, Spinoza considered the Bible to be “a book rich in contradictions.” In the 18th century, Thomas Paine in “The Age of Reason” compiled many of the Bible’s self-contradictions. And in 1860, William Henry Burr produced a list of 144 self-contradictions in the Bible. This is an updated list of over 712 inconsistencies in the Bible.
Genesis 32:24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.
These verses, like most of the bible, contain multiple layers of bullshit. Jacob wrestles with God and beats his ass. There goes the almighty and omnipotent clauses in God’s resume. If Jacob can whip God’s butt, no wonder he cannot defeat the devil. God changes Jacob’s name to Israel, yet continues to call him Jacob (so does the bible). Then we must add cheater to God’s resume after he grabs Jacob’s nuts. Then please note that God cannot fight around daybreak. Also, compare verse 30 to the following passages:
John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
Exodus 33:20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.
1 Timothy 6:16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
